VP MARKETING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Mr. Urban specializes in the education of the public regarding the intricacies of start-up companies and emerging technologies. His understanding of paradigms and perceptions are the key to his success in helping individuals to understand their role in, or need for education and training in, new technologies and the impact that those technologies will have on the client's field, both short and long term. After his education at Albright College, Bowling Green University, and the Columbia and Wharton schools of business, Mr. Urban distinguished himself in corporate marketing during the seventies and eighties with corporate giants BASF and DANA. By the early nineties he became fascinated with the dynamics of emerging technologies and the barriers to their full and profitable utilization. He formed Urban Dynamics to help address this niche market. As the President of Urban Dynamics he has helped numerous start-up and underachieving companies to realize the success that comes from educating target markets as to the applicability of new technologies. Many firms have moved from start-up to the $60 million dollar sales level in a few short years under his tutelage. In the field of Nanotechnology Toxicology Mr. Urban sees an emerging technology beset by the same limiting paradigms and lack of clear guidelines faced in other corporate start-up and investment / venture capital arenas. With over 25 years of experience in creating focus out of the fog of new technology applications, Walter is uniquely qualified to help guide your group to the orderly development of short term education and training goals and performance objectives which will require the modification of the "Status Quo" and an effort to keep pace with the exploding potential in the field of nanotechnology. It is imperative that corporations manufacturing products with nanoscale materials, governmental regulators, and investors, among others have a strategy to manage and determine the potential for adverse outcomes using these novel materials. In addition to his responsibilities for the marketing of NTC&T consulting and training programs Mr. Urban handles a critical component of our intervention into our client organizations. Based on his experience helping organizations adapt to fast paced technological change he will help guide our clients through the maze of paradigm shifts and conceptual reconfiguration necessary to stay abreast of an exploding and potentially disruptive technology, through the internal marketing and education within our client companies.
